Aberrometry is based on the principle that if an eye had no imperfections at all, light would pass through and not scatter, but because no eye is perfect, light scatters to form distinct patterns, called a wavefront. This is as specific and unique as a person’s fingerprint and is the basis for AVC’s highly individual wavefront laser eye surgery treatment.
The Zywave Aberrometer detects and measures the higher order aberrations to create the individual wavefront map. The laser eye surgeons use the individual map to create the bespoke treatment plan for each patient.
