The Patient Excellence Award For AVC!

Nothing is more important to us at Advance Vision Care than knowing we have made a difference in our patients’ lives and that we were there for them at every step of the way throughout their journey. We always strive to go the extra mile to ensure each patient is completely satisfied and happy that they trusted AVC with their eyesight.

We are delighted to announce that our commitment to patient care has been recognised by Doctify and to further cement our position as the UK’s leading private eye clinic, we have won the Patient Excellence Award for 2019, despite only joining this popular independent patient platform less than 1 year ago!

These are just a few of the reasons why Doctify have chosen AVC to receive this award.

Quality Surgeons

The quality of your surgeon is vital as it is those skilled hands that you are entrusting your eyesight to and it is the surgeon that will ensure the procedure goes well. This is one of the primary reasons why we only employ world-class surgeons with first-class reputations.

Our Medical Director Dr CT Pillai is rated on the Doctify website as 5 out of 5 Stars from 135 reviews! See more here.

He has over 25 years of ophthalmic experience and has performed over 50,000 LASIK, LASEK and PRK laser procedures. This is because he is considered to be one of the most experienced laser eye surgeons in his field. His surgical skills and record of very low complication rates have been widely applauded in specialist magazines such as Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, Optician and Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr Goran Helgason is constantly in demand around the world as a course instructor for Implantable Contact Lens (ICL) surgery. Not only is he internationally recognised as a leading expert in this field, he is also living proof of the outstanding benefits of ICL, having had treatment himself in both eyes in 2004.

His patient feedback from Doctify is highly rated and is currently rated as 4.9 out of 5 from 15 reviews. Read more here.

Professor Martin FIlipec has an international reputation built on more than 25 years in the ophthalmic industry and is a highly respected pioneering surgeon. He has extensive specialist knowledge of eye micro-surgery, corneal transplants, non-laser surgeries (cataract, lens replacement and ICL) and it is this expertise which makes him highly sought after around the world as an international trainer and scientific advisor to the top leading eye care technology companies.

He consistently has excellent feedback from Doctify and is currently rated as 4.9 out of 5 from 28 reviews. find out more here.

Customer Service

One of AVC’s key points that differentiates us from competitors is our dedication to patient care and our unparalleled levels of customer service. Thankfully, this commitment is reflected by the excellent reviews that our patients leave us. Read more here.

The initial consultation is a chance to put you at ease and assess which treatment is most suitable for your prescription. This is achieved by using a range of sophisticated tests that will discover the best method to improve your vision. We take as much time as necessary to determine the most suitable treatment plan, which is why our consultations are longer than other clinics.

You will always meet a surgeon at your initial consultation and they will explain the best course of treatment, as well as answer any questions you may have. By having a variety of treatments available to suit varying prescription ranges, we are not only able to provide the right refractive solution catered to your own specific needs but often able to treat those found unsuitable elsewhere.

We only offer the highest quality standard of care to our patients which is why we believe communication is vital, we make sure that all our patients are fully informed and supported throughout the process.

We have no reason to push one treatment over another, our prices are global and we never upsell. After all, this is Harley Street, not the High Street!

Our Doctify reviews demonstrate that this approach works and the vast majority of our patients are extremely satisfied with the care they receive. Click here to read more.

Technology and Aftercare Programme

AVC exclusively uses the most advanced technology available, however it is crucial that it has been rigorously tested and approved. This reassures patients that they are getting industry-leading care, and through our continued reinvestment into new technology we ensure that our patients have access to the latest and safest technology available in the country.

The combination of world class surgeons and technology of the highest standards means that we deliver the very best results for all of our patients.

The Bausch & Lomb Technolas TENEO 317 is a great example of this. It is the fastest treating and newest (released in 2017) excimer laser available in the UK and provides the best outcomes in terms of results and recovery time.

Advantages include:

  • Faster treatment times – Typical treatment lasts between 3 to 5 seconds only!
  • Improved accuracy
  • Creation of complex and personalised treatment plans

For all non-laser procedures (Cataracts, Lens Replacement and Implantable Contact Lenses) treatment takes place in the Alcon Refractive Suite which is the safest and most advance non-laser surgical theatre in the country. Comprising of the Verion Image Guided system, the Centurion Vision System and the Luxor LX3 with Q-VUE microscope, this combination of technology provides any benefits, including:

  • Improved surgical planning and accuracy
  • Reduction in margins of error and complications, leading to better results
  • Faster recovery times

Our aftercare program is also impressive.

We guarantee our patients a full 1 year of comprehensive aftercare, unlike many of our competitors who provide a 3 or 6 months aftercare facility. Our 1 year guarantee further reassures our patients that any complications will be dealt with quickly and effectively, this is inclusive of retreatment, fine tuning and YAG laser.

In addition, follow-up aftercare appointments can take place at a clinic close to your home thanks to our optometrist network – the largest independent network in the UK. See more.
